Software Testing for Beginners by Guru99

Details of the event/activity:

The online course I recently completed was "Software Testing for Beginners" by Guru99. It comprised a comprehensive introduction to software testing principles, techniques, and methodologies. The course included video tutorials, practical exercises, and quizzes to assess understanding.

Reflections on the webinar/activity and learnings:

Participating in the Guru99 course on software testing proved to be immensely enlightening. I gained a profound understanding of the importance of testing in the software development lifecycle. The course effectively demystified testing terminology and methodologies, equipping me with the knowledge needed to approach testing projects confidently.

Reflections on possibilities for practical application of learning:

The knowledge gained from this course has numerous practical applications in the software development industry. For instance, I can now effectively plan and execute test cases, identify, and report bugs, and ensure the quality and reliability of software products. Additionally, I can explore specialized areas of testing such as security testing, usability testing, and compatibility testing to further enhance my skill set and marketability as a software tester.

Suggestions for improvements to be made/consider for future activities:

While the course content was comprehensive and well-structured, there are areas where improvements could be made. Providing more hands-on exercises and real-world examples would help reinforce learning and demonstrate the practical application of testing concepts. Additionally, offering supplementary resources such as case studies or guest lectures from industry experts could provide valuable insights and perspectives on the challenges and best practices in software testing.

 

Positive feedback on the event organization:

Overall, I was highly satisfied with the organization and delivery of the Guru99 course. The instructors were knowledgeable, engaging, and adept at explaining complex concepts in a clear and concise manner. The course materials were to navigate, and the quizzes and assessments effectively gauged understanding and progress.

Suggestions for improvements to be made/consider for future activities:

Looking ahead to future activities, it would be beneficial to incorporate more interactive elements such as virtual labs or simulation exercises where participants can gain hands-on experience with testing tools and techniques.

At first, I was scared and thrilled, and it was difficult for me to engage with them since it was work from home. To think about it, they were professionals, and I was just a student trainee, and I couldn't interact with them effectively over internet. After the training, I realized that OJT is more than simply a need to be fulfilled; it is also an opportunity to demonstrate my abilities, knowledge, and talents, as well as to experience the sense of being a professional.
